S31803 Stainless Steel Composition & Standard Duplex Properties
S31803 is a standard duplex stainless steel containing 21–23% chromium, 4.5–6% nickel, 2.5–3.5% molybdenum, and nitrogen. Its performance is similar to S32205, though S32205 has a narrower and optimized composition range.
S31803 offers high strength, excellent pitting resistance, and strong resistance to stress‑corrosion cracking. It is widely used in seawater systems, chemical processing equipment, pressure vessels, storage tanks, heat exchangers, and marine structures.S31803 is supplied as plates, tubes, bars, and profiles. It remains a widely used duplex grade for industrial applications requiring strength and corrosion resistance.
