S32304 Stainless Steel Composition & Duplex Corrosion‑Resistant Properties

S32304 is a standard duplex stainless steel containing 22–24% chromium, 3–5% nickel, nitrogen, and small amounts of molybdenum. It offers excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, with a PREN value higher than 316L.
Its yield strength is roughly twice that of austenitic grades, making it suitable for chloride‑rich environments such as desalination plants, chemical processing systems, pressure piping, storage tanks, bridges, and marine structures. Weldability is good, and duplex balance remains stable after welding.
S32304 is supplied as plates, tubes, bars, and profiles. As a stronger and more corrosion‑resistant alternative to 316L, it is widely used in demanding industrial and marine applications.
