SUS 301 is the high‑strength austenitic stainless steel grade defined in JIS G4304 (hot‑rolled) and JIS G4312 (cold‑rolled). With 16–18% chromium and 6–8% nickel, it has a lower nickel content than 304, giving it superior work‑hardening behavior.
301 rapidly increases in strength during cold working, making it suitable for springs, clips, fasteners, automotive trim, transportation components, and reinforcement parts. Its corrosion resistance is moderate and suitable for atmospheric and mildly corrosive environments. SUS 301 is supplied as cold‑rolled sheets, strips, and coils.
