Y1Cr13 Stainless Steel Composition & Free-Cutting Properties
Y1Cr13 is a free-cutting martensitic stainless steel specified in GB/T 4237 and GB/T 4238. Containing approximately 12–14% chromium together with a deliberate sulphur addition, it offers improved machinability while retaining the hardenability of the 13% Cr family.
After quenching and tempering, the grade achieves enhanced strength and wear resistance while maintaining moderate corrosion resistance. It is commonly used in shafts, fasteners, valve parts, and high-volume turned components.
Y1Cr13 is available as plates, bars, and strips. It is widely used in automatic machining production, instrument manufacturing, and general mechanical components.
