JIS G4304 / G4312 SUS 410 Stainless Steel Composition & Martensitic Properties
SUS 410 is a martensitic stainless steel defined in JIS G4304 / G4312. With 11.5–13.5% chromium and very low nickel content, it is heat‑treatable and capable of achieving high strength and hardness.
It is widely used for valve components, pump shafts, knives, fasteners, wear‑resistant parts, and mechanical structures. Weldability is limited, and post‑weld tempering is recommended to prevent cracking. SUS 410 is supplied as plates, bars, tubes, and forgings. It is a cost‑effective material for applications requiring strength, hardness, and moderate corrosion resistance.
